About: Talking Conservation

--Peter Alexander

As a long-time environmentalist I have often been painfully aware of the tendency to 'preach to the choir.' Environmentalists tend to assume that everyone else shares-or should share-their same outlook, ideals, and values. Obviously, this is not the case (nor are environmentalists alone in making this error!). The main purpose of this site is to provide resources to help you reach and engage broader constituencies in support of your organization and it's mission. The site contains information about key audiences in the Gulf of Maine region, including who their trusted messengers are, what media pathways can be used to communicate with them, and what values and concerns can be activated in moving them towards environmentally beneficial behaviors.

I hope that you find the site useful. I will be adding to it regularly as new information and resources become available and I welcome your suggestions. If you would like some assistance in making use of this information in your own communications and outreach efforts, I would be happy to help. I am also available if you need help with grant proposals, fundraising, board development, strategic planning, and business or project development.
